Just a small insight into who I am.
Hi new followers, friends & subscribers. My name is Rachel and I am more than happy to meet you, thanks for dropping in
Since joining Medium towards the end of February, I’ve never looked back.
To think I was oh so nervous and apprehensive about sharing my life, my trauma and everything in between, on a writing app that millions of people could see and read, brought me out in a jibbering wreck & hives.
But I vowed to myself before then that I was no longer going to allow my past, my trauma or my pain control and ruin anymore of my life than it already had.
Although very nervous and apprehensive I jumped in feet first.
I took back my power that someone robbed me of as a child and since then had caused so much damage but in the form of me causing as much of it as I could and as deeply as I could.
My abuse came at the hands of my grandfather, who sexually abused me from the ages of 3/8 but could have and more than likely did happen sooner, it’s just my memory can only go back so far!!
It wasn’t until the age of 18 that the extent of this man’s infliction upon myself and many members of my family came to light, when my Aunt went to report her sufferings with this man, her…
